Grow your child’s love for science!
In Science to Grow On™, children make discoveries by questioning, experiencing, and investigating. Explora educators engage children and their adults in age-appropriate activities that incorporate science, art, and fun! Each session focuses on a different theme. Activities change each semester.
Meets every other week for 1½ hours.
Parent or adult caregiver participation is encouraged, but not required.

Registration/Information
- You can register online
- Please have the following available when you register: emergency contact name and phone numbers; name of alternate adults who can pick up the child; child’s medications, dosages, and physician’s name; child’s insurance information, as well as any allergy or special needs information for your child.

Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation is received more than 5 business days before the camp, a refund will be issued for the amount minus a 15% administrative fee.

Cancellations received 5 business days or fewer before the camp will not be refunded.

Full fees will be refunded if Explora cancels a program

Magnet Mayhem
Saturday, January 18
Experiment with the powers of magnets as you try to repel and attract different materials. Explore magnetic pendulums, use a magnet to race a car and draw with iron filings.
Be a Rock Star
Saturday, February 1
Rocks can be sorted into groups based on a number of characteristics. However, geologists sort them by the way in which they were formed. You’ll sort rocks and then perform a number of tests on a mystery mineral in order to identify it.
Under Construction
Saturday, February 15
Test your engineering skills and explore what materials make the best structures. Create your own container to safely drop an egg.
Sticky Stuff
Saturday, March 1
Have you noticed that strange thing called “adhesion” that makes your fingers sticky after you eat candy? Discover what kinds of materials will make paper, plastic, fabric, and wood “stick together” and which ones will not.
Fairy Tale Science
Saturday, March 15
Explore the science and engineering of fairy tales. Have you wondered how much weight can Rapunzel’s hair hold or how tall is the giant from Jack in the Beanstalk? Come find out in this class.
Animal Adaptations
Saturday, March 29
How is a bird’s beak related to the type of food it eats? Explore animal adaptations and meet some of Explora’s educational animals.
Floaters and Sinkers
Saturday, April 12
Get ready to get your hands wet! What objects will float in water and which objects will sink? Can you turn a sinker into a floater?
How Does Your Garden Grow?
Saturday, April 26
Discover the origin of a plant by dissecting a seed and finding out what makes it grow. Investigate seeds, soils, and roots. Take your plantings home and watch them grow.
