Grow your child’s love for science!

In Science to Grow On™, children make discoveries by questioning, experiencing, and investigating. Explora educators engage children and their adults in age-appropriate activities that incorporate science, art, and fun! Each session focuses on a different theme. Activities change each semester.

Meets every other week for 1½ hours.
Parent or adult caregiver participation is encouraged, but not required.

Explora’s Camps & Programs

Explora educators develop activities with children’s developmental levels in mind. Your children will have the opportunity to learn from, and work with older and younger peers and make new friends.

Registration/Information

You can register online
Please have the following available when you register: emergency contact name and phone numbers; name of alternate adults who can pick up the child; child’s medications, dosages, and physician’s name; child’s insurance information, as well as any allergy or special needs information for your child.

Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation is received more than 5 business days before the camp, a refund will be issued for the amount minus a 15% administrative fee.
Cancellations received 5 business days or fewer before the camp will not be refunded.
Full fees will be refunded if Explora cancels a program

Detective Science

Saturday, August 31

Delve into forensics and learn the skills used by law enforcement to solve crime. Apply the scientific method to analyzing fingerprints, DNA, and other crime scene evidence.

Catch a Wave

Saturday, September 14

Catch a sound wave! Students experiment with vibrations to learn how sound is produced and how it travels. Make your own musical instrument to take home

Chemistry of Clay

Saturday, September 28

Use microscopes to examine and compare natural clay, polymer clay, and craft dough. Test each material’s strength and stretchiness and invent your own playful putty to take home.

Art Ovation

Saturday, October 12

How many ways are there to create art? Celebrate the many different methods and modes of art like clay, paper mache, and wax melting.

Science of Sweet

Saturday, October 26

Explore the properties of various types of sugars as you examine samples with microscopes and create new mixtures. Use different types of candy to experiment with melting, color change and more.

3-D Pen Engineering

Saturday, November 9

Unleash your engineering creativity with 3D pens. Design, experiment and build structures and dive into the wide world of 3D modeling!

Sphero Robotics!

Saturday, November 23

Explore coding and robotics with a small robot ball called a Sphero! Use your ingenuity and a Sphero to complete tasks, play games, and interact with other Spheros.

Chill Out

Saturday, December 7

Discover how super cool science is as we test a variety of substances and how they react to ice. Melt away any preconceived notions as we experiment with temperature, size, and shape with shattering results!
